UCLA Faculty Senate resolution on academic freedom, 1949

In 1949, the UCLA Institute of Industrial Relations invited British Labor Party official and university professor Harold Laski to speak on campus. In the midst of a wider conflict over free speech on campus, UCLA Chancellor Dykstra forced the cancellation of the event causing a minor international controversy.
