Students pose with historically themed creations

Student historians bring history out of the archives

During the winter of 2019, students in the Labor Studies program dug into the records of Los Angeles unions from the 1990s and 2000s. They produced digital maps, ‘zines, timelines, and other projects. After presenting their work, students posed with their professor and a set of life-sized portraits of activists painted from actual photographs and videos students encountered in the archives.
