Father Richard Gillett and Rev. James Lawson Jr., both founding members of CLUE, join workers at a lobbying action Los Angeles City Hall in 1996. Accompanied by religious leaders, delegations of workers and community members visited City Council offices to encourage members to vote yes on the Living Wage Ordinance, which raised the wages of workers who were employed on city contracts or at city-owned properties.
